Moutainview Villa

Moutainview Villa

Mountain view, New Cairo, Egypt

Project Description

The concept: In designing this private villa our challenges was to transform a long, narrow corridor into a grand outdoor experience. The concept, “The Linear Retreat”, uses vertical elements to draw they eye upward and forward, creating an illusion of expansive space. Design Features: 1- The alley: The journey begins with a “floating” limestone path set into a perfectly maintained lawn. We framed this transition with Italian Cypress ( Cupressus sempervirens), which act as living columns to create a sense of rhythm and ceremony. To add texture and color at the ground level, we layered the walkway with exotic sago palms (Cycas revoluta) and golden Duranta shrubs, providing a vibrant contrast against the deep green perimeter. 2- The Glass house & Outdoor Lounge: At the heart of the backyard sits a custom-built Glass house - a transparent retreat designed to let the homeowners fully enjoy the garden throughout the year, regardless of the weather. This structure centers the main lunge area, where we kept the middle of the yard as an open pristine green. The intentional “negative space” allows the eye to rest and makes the surrounding botanical borders appear more vivid and lush. 3- Privacy through Botanical Layering: To ensure total intimacy, we engineered a multi-layered botanical border that serves as a natural privacy screen. By combining dense hedging with tropical textures like Fan Palms and Birds of Paradise, we blocked the outside sightlines without the need for cold, industrial fencing. 4- Invisible Infrastructure: The beauty of this project is sustained by smart technology. We integrated a custom-engineered, automated irrigation syste, throughout the site. This hidden network provides precision watering to every plant and blade of grass, making sure the landscape remains vibrant and healthy.
